Happy Monday Yinz!
Last week was the last week of the first round of VIP programming, and I am happy to announce that of the testers that did my Powerful Pull Up Program, many have gotten stronger to the tune of getting their first full pull up. Kudos to all of you who gained access to that program! Way to work!
Today, I am not here to write about pull ups and strength training, but rather keeping up your endurance in the easiest fashion so eloquently worded in my own recovery programs I am involved in: live your life one day at a time.
I have outlined a number of personal goals for the next year, much of which revolve around regaining my strength for the necessary skills for the Reebok Spartan Trifecta Series. I had intended to do the races this year, but as I have mentioned in previous posts, I had to slow down and really discern where my current conditioning and strength was at. I may not be up to par at the current time of this post, but each day, one day at a time, I take a step closer to such goals.
My hope for you reading this post today is to dig deep, to find out what it is you truly want to achieve in life, and to set your mind to doing the damn thing. I am a big fan of writing out goals on paper, so as a sort fo workout challenge today, grab yourself a piece of paper, and write down your most pressing goals you wish to achieve over the course of the next year. Seeing your vision on paper gives you a physical visual to focus on. Place that sheet of paper somewhere where you will see it daily, and each day, remind yourself of the goal you wish to achieve by looking at it right in front of you.
You will have days that will test your patience, sanity, and mental strength. You will also have your days when your on your upmost A-Game. The key with making any new healthy habit a long lasting behavior is to practice that behavior over and over again until it becomes second nature, and to remain ever focussed on what it is you’re trying to achieve. Living one day at a time is helpful, to remain focussed and take the necessary actions, however big or small, to move in the direction of achieving what you want to achieve.
What goals are you trying to achieve for your overall health? Write them down. Post them up. Visualize them coming to life.
And remember. . .
Live each day one day at a time, focussing on what you need to do to make those dreams come true.
Become the strongest, healthiest, most badass person you can be this year!
Let nothing stand in your way.
