Joe Burns came into the studio six months ago to do our summer slim down challenge her at Primal Fitness Pittsburgh. Joe was struggling with a lot of sciatica pain at the time, and was worried that the initial lifting programs were going to hurt him. After a lot of reassurance, Joe decided to take the leap and go primal. Today, he is down 15 pounds, stronger than an ox, and has completely overcome his sciatica pain. But don’t take my word for it. I had my fears of being a 40 something guy with a back problem going to a gym, but I had to do something. I have a physically demanding job with lots of repetitious lifting, reaching, pulling, pushing and squatting( I used to bend over a lot which I now know wasn’t proper form for lifting at all).
