Yinz ain’t seen nothing yet!
Greetings to you all and once again! I hope you did something wonderful to enjoy your life over the weekend. My weekend was spent tackling a pretty intense workout RKC II Kerry Swick gave me for my HKC certificaiton in Pittsburgh. I can tell you it was difficult not just because of the demanding work, but also because of the HORRENDOUS HUMIDITY in Pittsburgh! Take a look at my Saturday kettlebell sweat fest!
Things You Should NEVER DO When it’s 102!
Warm up: Begin with 3 sets of 5 12 kg goblet squats followed by 3 sets of 5 military presses on each arm, using the same weight.
A) 2 – 12kg clean, FSQ, MP (long cycle),
ladders of 1-3 rep. Do what you can in 15 minutes. Rest as needed.
And end with….
B) 2 hand swings – 20 kg 30 second intervals for 10 minutes (work up to that if you need to).
Make sure you…
C) Consume SueroViv to hydrate yourself because if you don’t you will …
D) DROP DEAD!
And yes, it actually DID reach 102 degrees this weekend in the City. My God, I am going to Florida in a few weeks and it is actually HOTTER here in Pittsburgh than it is down there. Hey Mother Nature! If you’re following this blog, PLEASE STOP THE MADNESS!
Moving right along, I want to get into the meat and sweet potatoes of this Paleo post. 😉 Ladies and Gentlemen, allow me to introduce you all to my new best friend, Hannah Dornof the Paleo Baking Company. First, a word on her website. You will notice her name online is Hannah Bretz. This fabulous woman just recently got married, so make sure you all congratulate her on Twitter! Follow her life and her business at the names @HannahBretz and @PaleoBakingCo. She also has her company page on facebook, and you best like this company! Here’s why!
Hannah and I have something in common. We both struggled with autoimmune related problems in our life and found the Paleo Diet had restored our health. You can read about her personal story by visiting paleobakingcompany.com. Now, Hannah has a sweet tooth (as do I actually) and decided to combat her love for cupcakes and muffins and transform them by “going against the grain” (God, I love this woman’s sense of humor!). The Paleo Baking Company is dedicated to providing grain free alternatives to cakes and muffins that are friendly towards people with serious food allergies, auto-immune diseases, and those who simply want to be as healthy as humanly possible without denying themselves a sweet treat.
On a personal note, I am also a HUGE FAN of the Paleo Baking company because 1) the owner Hannah is a HUGE FAN of my blog and 2) Hannah actually went out of her way to SEND ME PALEO MUFFINS IN THE MAIL! Don’t believe me? Here are the pictures to prove it!
Now, don’t go berating the wonderful Hannah on facebook and twitter because you are all jealous. I know some very powerful people who live in the land of Kettlebells, and trust me, you don’t want these people coming after you (Hannah, me and some RKC friends have your back. No worries love! 🙂 ) Hannah is a wonderful woman, and if you contact her, believe me she will hook you up!
Speaking of getting personal, I was so flattered by my foodie fan-mail that I went ahead and made a YouTube video for the lovely Hannah Dorn! But hey, this video isn’t all about Paleo muffins. Oh no, there’s more in store for both Hannah and you all viewing this blog right now. Check out the video below to learn about The Paleo Baking Company and how Beyond Organic fits into Hannah’s picture, and even your picture!
