It’s been a while since we posted a workout here on Primal Fitness Pittsburgh. With the weekend upon us now, I wanted to give you all a fun workout to try out this weekend. In the words of one of our clients at Primal Fitness Pittsburgh, “this will keep your beast self happy!”
Have I mentioned we have a ton of fun here at Primal Fitness Pittsburgh? Well. . .we DO! This workout is only a 10 minute workout but trust me, that is all you will need for this routine. Grab two slightly lighter kettlebells than what you are comfortable with and get ready for a fun little complex called Meat and Potoates. You may be asking yourself why it is named “Meat and Potatoes”. This 10 minute double ketltebell routine will leave you feeling very hungry. You will have earned your right to eat your meat and potatoes after this one, believe me!
The Meat and Potatoes Workout
Instructor note: the volume of this workout is demanding so the double kettlebell work is a bit on the lower side of the loading parameter to allow for proper technique and to avoid unnecessary fatigue. Women, I suggest using two 8kg or two 10 kg kettlebells. Men, I suggest using two 12kg or two 14kg kettlebells.
You will perform a 10 minute complex of the following exercises.
5 double swings
5 double push presses
5 double front squats.
You are not to set the kettlebells down until after you complete the entire complex from the start of the swings to the end of the squats. Your goals is to complete as many rounds of the complex as possible in 10 minutes with good form. Remember to breathe, pace yourself, and have FUN!
